We can send bear pepper spray to all states except Massachusetts.

We don't necessarily approve of making new laws, but it does show how effective bear spray is against bears. Also, make sure that the spray you are using is registered with the EPA for use against bears. There is a special formula for this and ordinary pepper spray is not recommended.

Shipping is FREE (Continental USA orders only) if you order a minimum of $50.00 from our web site. Otherwise we will add $6.50 shipping.

Some Wildlife Specialists Feel Bear Spray Should Be Banned.

Why would some feel Bear spray should be taken off shelves so it is not available to hikers in National Parks?  The answer is really not quite what you may be expecting.  It does show how effective the bear spray is in warding off bears in a real crisis.  It seems that the bear spray is giving backpackers and nature lovers a little too much confidence.  When some hikers see a bear they pull out their bear spray and start approaching the bear.  They want to get closer so as to give them a whiff of the bear repellent.  Not only is this an aggressive act challenging the bear to defend himself it is not a very wise move.

I personally am glad that the fear that people may have had that kept them from enjoying what the parks have to offer has subsided with our products.  That is exactly why BodyguardX was formed and exists.  Yet logic tells us that if you challenge a bear or get between its cubs a semi-truck load of our spray may not be enough.

When you see a bear always back away slowly and get out of its path.  Though to tell you the truth I have run into many bears and no matter how slow I try to back away I have not been very good at it.  Usually I end up booking at full throttle.  When I turn to see if the bear is following it always has had this confused look as if it is pondering, "What the heck was that?"  I don't mind the feeling that to the bear I appear to be just a minor distraction like a mosquito is to me.  At least I am still experiencing the wonders of nature first hand.

Moral of the story is to stay away from bears as much as possible.  You can keep one hand on your Bear Spray but don't get over confident with it.  Leave the bears alone and enjoy them from a distance.
