My name is Bodie Cummins. I will be the moderator for the BodyguardX Blog. The mascot pictures that you will see on our labels and flyers are supposed to be of me. Though I think I am better looking in real life. LaserTeQ just wants to use my silhouette though. I think that is a big lost for the web community. Why am I the moderator? Simply because I use to be the bouncer at many fine drinking establishments. Usually my size was enough to make even drunks behave themselves. Even though I was good at removing people I used my head to protect myself, others around me and even protecting the offending customer from themselves. Nothing like them coming back days later and thanking me for not hurting them. Better yet, apologizing for their behavior. In the following articles I hope to share some pointers that have helped me do my job and keep people safe.
Bodies Rules: One. Don’t Be A Hero. I will handle the personal safety advice in our blog. Usually I push the idea just be alert to your surroundings, don’t be a hero unless someone needs your help and don’t walk alone. When I say don’t be a hero, I believe there is no reason to be confrontational. There is never a reason to not be respectful no matter how obnoxious the other person is. Of course if someone is being hurt or harassed me being silent is a personal sin to me. There is no excuse not to at least stand aside and call the police or get help. Tell the confrontational person that you are calling the police. Everyone at times can be the angel a child, woman, aged or weak person is looking for. We can be a real friend to others if we work together.
I plan to give plenty of self defense tips in the future. My second rule is: If you can run then do it. If someone does get a hold of you then yell, kick or scream. I hope it never happens but even if they hit you yell, cry and moan like it really hurts. Maybe they’ll be satisfied that they hurt you or it may give you time enough to get your pepper spray or tazer out. Then run like crazy. I like the products in our catalog because they give you the minute you need to get to safety. Though I really hope that if you ever have to use our gear that it is just against a stray dog charging at you. When you have that minute to get to safety take it and don’t try to be a hero. Your safety and that of your family are what is really important. Don’t be too proud to run when the opportunity comes.
Another reason I like our products. They won’t kill anyone but they can really mess up their day. A small consolation for the stress such a situation will put anybody through.
Well here is to the blog and all the friends that will be sharing some good information.
I will be talking at you,
Greetings,
I go by the moniker of McQ. I will be moderating on this blog for our sister site http://www.SpyTeQ.com. My job will to inform you how to use our high tech spy equipment. The technology has come so far that the cost is no longer unreachable for the average home or business owner. I will assist Bodie our resident Bodyguard with the more technical information needed.
Interestingly enough the mascot we have chosen for SpyTeQ is a picture of me only drawn in Manga form. I love it. With my hat, glasses, and coat I can go behind the scenes still unnoticed and get you the answers you need. We hope to have all our images up in the following weeks.
My goal is not only to tell you about how to use our equipment but also how to “hack it” to get the most out of it. The technology I want to share with you would even make James Bond excited.
Of course the idea of safety is not a game. It is a serious subject of our times. Some have been really hurt and we will be there to offer help and aid. I may not catch the rats for you, but I can tell you were to look.
So if you are visiting this site to set up precautionary surveillance measurements. Or maybe you want to learn how to set up your own surveillance system. Even if you just love spy equipment well we are there for you.
I will be talking at you.

Many have asked me how do I know your tasers and pepper sprays work? Believe me if you have ever gotten tasered you know it works. Being in the business I have gotten shocked so many times by not turning off the taser and installing new batteries. It is no big deal. If you want to know if it works have someone hold the taser about 1/4 inch from a finger and set it off in a simple burst. You will actually see it arch off the electrodes and toward your finger. Then imagine it ten times stronger. You’ll know it works.
There are also degrees of shock. It depends how long you hold the taser to someone. At one second they are usually up and running away from you almost immediately. Hold it against someone and count to four before you stop, usually they are not going anywhere until after you have called the police or run away yourself. I will be going over this information some more in the following week.
How do you know if a pepper spray works? I recommend that everyone should go outside and spray their can into a large trash sack. This way you can see how it fires and in which direction it goes. It is also important to know the force it comes out of the can. This boosts a lot of confidence and trust in it when you see what it does. Then close up the bag and have some friends smell it and have them tell you if this pepper spray works or not. I don’t recommend you not tell them what it is before they smell it. They just might not want to smell it if they are asmatic or something. So don’t play any tricks on people with this. It is not a toy. It is used only for protection.
I hope this answers your questions on how can we know if these work. Try it out on yourself. Remember, Money back guarantee.
Blog Readers, following is a story how the Stunning Ring was used.
I hope you never find yourself in the situation of the owner of a small restaurant in Chicago.
She was closing up her restaurant about 10 pm one night and was starting her 10 minute walk to where her car was parked. She was a little concerned, because she had heard on the radio that evening that a convicted serial rapist escaped from prison and was last seen only 4 blocks from her restaurant.
She had recently purchased a Stunning Ring Pepper Spray and kept it in herpurse. She decided to take it out and put it on for the walk to her car.
As she rounded the corner of a building, a man stepped into her path and asked if she had $5.00 because he was hungry.
She attempted to go around him, but he grabbed her arm. She immediately shoved her left hand in his face and triggered the Stunning Ring.
A blast of pepper spray went up his nose and in his eyes. He immediately let go of her and started rubbing at his eyes. She had plenty of time to get to her car and call the police on her cell phone.
The guy who attacked her was not the escaped convict.
This made her realize (and you should realize also) that you should not wait for a escaped serial rapist before getting something to defend yourself. You never know when you could be the next target of some jerk.
When Dr. Ron Caro’s wife wanted to leave their apartment after their new mountain bikes were stolen from their balcony facing the alley, Dr. Caro installed a security system that has caught and prosecuted more than 14 perpetrators in the past two years.
Dr.Caro lives in an upscale neighborhood in Whittier, California, in an apartment directly above the complex’s carports adjacent to the alley. Two year’s ago, after his bikes were stolen, Dr. Caro purchased four bullet cameras, a time-lapse video recorder, and a quad to monitor the activity in and around the carports, alley, and patio. The week after installing the system, a neighbor had a break-in, so Dr. Caro reviewed the tape to see what happened.
He found the incident and gave the tape to the police.
“The police took a report and told me that unless I knew where the suspect lived or who he was there was really no way to catch the guy,” Dr. Caro explained.
So Dr. Caro added Voice Alert, a wireless notification device, to his system. The Voice Alert system combines wireless infrared sensors with a speaker/receiver that allows the user to record up to six individual messages. When a sensor is triggered by activity, a signal is sent to the receiver/speaker and it plays the corresponding message to alert the home or business owner that an incident has occurred.
Dr. Caro installed three Voice Alert sensors in the carport and positioned them so that the infrared beams intersected to detect anything that entered the carport. Less than a week after he installed Voice Alert, the receiver speaker sounded at 4 a.m.
playing the message “Someone’s in the carport!” and waking Dr. Caro.
He turned on his monitor and saw the same guy who robbed his neighbor a week earlier in his carport. The time-lapse recorder was recording and Caro, a former Marine Corps Officer, held the suspect until police arrived. Dr. Caro gave the time-lapse recording to the police, providing enough evidence to prosecute the suspect. That same scenario, with different suspects, has occurred numerous times over the past two years. Each with the same outcome, the suspect gets caught and prosecuted.
“One police officer even mentioned that more people should have a system like mine,” said Dr. Caro. “As far as I’m concerned, surveillance without sensors is not effective. You need to catch them in the act.”
Dr. Caro looked at other notification systems and found Voice Alert to have the best wireless range and the best price. “It’s a great piece of equipment,” said Dr. Caro.
I included the above true story for MCQ at http://www.spyteq.com. Just to make the point. What good is a surveillance without an alert monitor system to go along with it. This should make those people with cameras want to update their systems as soon as possible.
It is a fact that handguns are still the top choice for Americans as a means of self defense. There seems that there is nothing that is going to change their minds. That is until now. Let us get the word out that in a crisis many times the handgun can easily become the criminal. Especially if you have children at home. No one has accidentally killed themselves or a sibling with a taser. Read the next true account I am presenting this as a series of true story articles Ask yourself how different it might have turned out if the young man had a handgun with him instead of a taser.
The following is a true story how the Advanced Taser was used.
At the end of the story, you will find a offer just for you.
Freddy started hanging around old man Benson’s sporting goods store when he was just ten years old. Now sixteen, and saving up his cash for college, he ran the cash register on weekends when the owner took a few hours off to spend time with his daughter and grandkids.
Weekend afternoons were pretty quiet in the neighborhood. Most folks did their shopping at the mall these days, though many of the office workers still stopped by during the week. For Freddy, it usually meant a chance to catch up on inventory or even the rare opportunity to get some more homework done.
Melissa, who helped her father run the store, had spent some time and energy upgrading the store’s security in the past few months.
She and her father didn’t believe in stashing a gun behind the counter - they didn’t want to run the risk that it might be used against them, or stolen at night and used in some other crime.
So Melissa picked up a Taser. She figured that if someone came in and threatened her father or one of her clerks, they could point and shoot it just like a gun.
As the Bensons enjoyed their afternoon in the park, Freddy caught up on some of his schoolwork. He couldn’t wait to enroll in pre- med courses that fall. As he looked up from his textbook, he noticed an unfamiliar figure hovering around the store. The guy was easily a foot taller than Freddy, and weighed about two hundred fifty pounds.
“Can I help you?” Freddy shouted.
The man darted his eyes at Freddy in between glances at the four corners of the store.
Freddy leaned up off his chair, and asked, “Is there something I can help you find?”
Suddenly, the man darted toward Freddy, eyes ablaze. He bellowed, “Yeah! You can help me find all the money in your cash register, punk! And when you’re done with that, I want you to come in to the back room and get that safe open!”
Freddy noticed a bulge in the man’s sweatshirt, and didn’t want to risk what might happen if that was any kind of weapon. In a split second, he grabbed the Taser from underneath the counter.
Freddy locked the laser sight onto his target and pulled the trigger.
Even though the robber was still about fifteen feet away, two small darts found their mark and channeled 50,000 volts of electricity over the pair of wires. The criminal collapsed, and Freddy knew from biology class that the attacker’s muscles wouldn’t stop contracting until he was stuck in the fetal position.
After the cops and paramedics arrived, Freddy learned that the robber was high on meth, looking for cash for a quick score.
Without the Taser, who knows what he might have done. Freddy knew that, in that state, the guy could even have survived a gunshot and still done some serious damage.
Closing the store that day, he couldn’t wait to swing by the park and give Melissa the news.
Yours in safety,
Bodie Cummins
